Two summers ago, Venice was dying and an 11-year-old girl made her first (so she thought) visit to the city where she instantly felt she belonged. Teodora, it transpired, was the undrowned child, destined to save Venice from its long-standing enemy, Bajamonte Tiepolo, the traitor. According to a long ago prophecy, Teo and Renzo (the studious son) were the only people equipped to defeat the baddened magic that the traitor brought to the stricken city. But they couldn't kill him - and so, subdued, but bitter, he returned to his shadowy existence.

Now he's back. And in need of a new army, he sets his sights on London - which is weak with mourning the death of the Queen, Victoria.

This is a fantastic sequel to the Underground child.

Queen Victoria is dying and much of her empire is in great need of help. Something very strange is happening not only in Venice but all around the world, and Venice is yet to be saved. Once more Teodora will have to fight to save not only Venice but also the rest of the world. Time is running out will Teo and Renzo be able to stop Bajamonte Tiepolo before things are taken too far?

I would recommend both of these books to any younger reader who loves adventures and mysteries.

BLATANT BOOKWORM

Teo and Renzo are back a little bit older, emotions run high with a little romance they are fighting evil once again but in a different location- London.

With death and loss the darkness is still present but with the return of Tiepolo and added evils of the pretender and squids the adventure is just beginning given a chance anyone will be enchanted.
Lovric does wonderful work with phrases and passages they must be re-read!
