ELLE MINKIE

"Ok so, I’ve seen a lot of Eden Maguire’s books all over the place, but ‘Dark Angel’ is the first one I’ve ever read so I didn’t really know what I was getting myself into. . .

But I sure as hell didn’t have to wait too long to guess!

‘Dark Angel’ gets right into the action of the small town of Bitterroot and its wild and tragic history of destructive forest fires. From here we meet Tania who has lived in the town her whole life and suffers from reoccurring nightmares of being caught in a forest fire; a nightmare she believes is tied to the small family that were killed in a house fire on the site of her family’s property.

Tania’s connection to this fire becomes very important as we make our way through the story. Tania is in her final year of high school, she has an amazing boyfriend Orlando, who is making decisions about where he plans to go to college; two gorgeous friends-Grace and Holly- as well as big plans to travel through Europe after her school life ends. Things in her life start to take some unusual and unexplainable twists when legendary musician Zoran Brancusi is hosting a party for everyone in his mansion just outside town. Tania and her friends find themselves mysteriously accepted into an underground(quite literally) party-within-a-party where they get to meet the man himself, and his interesting staff-this is where Tania first lays eyes on the irresistible Daniel and all the fun begins.

The number one thing I loved about ‘Dark Angel’ was Tania (and Maia but that’s some serious spoiler). She has her faults, but unlike most heroine’s I’ve read who are put into similar situations, Tania is still able to keep her head, most of the time, and not get caught up as silly and naïve when things start getting suspicious. She’s got good wits, which makes all the more a threat when evil starts to show its face. And the relationship Tania has with Orlando is so perfect! They seem to be one of the more genuine couples I’ve ever read-they don’t get all insecure about each other, they don’t have any ‘loving-to-the-point-of-sickness’ moments, nor are they completely happy with each other all the time-which makes for some serious drama!-but all in all they are true.
I can’t wait to get my hands on ‘Twisted Heart’! Something big is definitely coming and Eden Maguire has me hooked."

Elle Minkie... ;) just for fun.

JUST ME

"Dark, mysterious. Eden Maguire has definitely worked her magic this time, Dark Angel is a book for anyone who enjoys a bit of mystery and a lot of suspense!
This book had an awesome beginning and got me intrigued but as Tania started to delve deeper into the mystery of Zoran, i started to lose interest. I love a good book but this time things started to get a little too dark.
definitely not for the faint hearted."

AVOX GIRL

Dark Angel by Eden Magurie is a cleverly constructed gripping take that will keep you wanting to know more!

After the first chapter i was captivated by the adventure i was about to go on. Tania our brave heroine knows what she wants and that is Orlando but is not sure if he loves her back. At the party of the year, everything changes for Tania, and life as she knows it will never be the same.

Dark Angel was a full of twists, turns and surprises. This is a date you should be sure not to missed for everything is not as it seems.

RIVER

Such an enticing book! Good looking (and sometimes foreign) guys, some serious partying and some deep light vs. dark thinking if you’re into it. Definitely a book to date if you love a bit of mystery and fire (and I mean that literally) to your romance...

Books From Mars

"Dark Angel was nothing like I expected it to be. To sum it up in one word, it was intense.

From the beginning, we’re introduced to one of the most terrifying of enemies: fire. Tania lives in a town surrounded by dense forests, where fires can start with little to no warning. I think it’s really imaginative to make a natural disaster like forest fires to be a prevalent source of tension, fear, and hope in the book. Fire is the worst enemy: it doesn’t have a motive, it doesn’t care who gets in its path, and when it’s strong enough, it’s nearly impossible to fight. But, on the other hand, fire can also bring about new life. And I love how Dark Angel embraces all of these points. Tania rises from the ashes to become a completely new person, someone who is strong enough to fight an even scarier enemy.

Angels are usually seen as something pure, innocent. It’s where we get the word angelic from. But the angels in this book are anything but. These angels kept me on the edge of my seat, kept me biting my nails, and kept me up until 3 or 4 am each night to find out what happens next. They are evil beings, their only motive is to destroy.

When Tania’s best friend, Grace, has a complete personality about-face, Tania knows that it’s up to her to save her. Grace suddenly begins to hang out with the beautiful, ridiculously talented and rich folk at the ranch. She abandons her friends and family. She hurts everyone around her. I really hated how Grace acted, but at the same time, I was scared for her. You could tell that it wasn’t her acting the way she was. There was something sinister behind her, and it was terrifying finding out.

The best thing about this book was the relationships between the characters. The characters were all very real, but it was their relationships that defined them. Grace and Tania the best friends. Grace and Jude, the perfect couple, always in love. Holly and Tania, the friends-who-are-only-friends-because-they’re-neighbours. Holly and Aaron, the on-again, off-again couple. And finally, Tania and the sexy Orlando, the couple that no one can get between. I fell in love with Orlando from the very beginning, and I felt as if I was friends with everyone else.

I can’t wait for the sequel, Twisted Heart. I’d give up my first born child to read it now.
This is a book that everyone should dig into.
